Georgia's nationally treasured chorus: Rustavi Ensemble
Rustavi Ensemble was created in 1968, which is Georgia's nationally treasured performing group. The Ensemble is famous for polyphonic singing and rich voices. Rustavi Ensemble was created by Anzor Erkomaishvili -- a singer and folklorist from a distinguished Georgian musical lineage that goes back seven generations. Anzor Erkomaishvili's vision was to break through ethnic boundaries of regional styles while performing ethnographically authentic music from all of Georgia.
Rustavi Ensemble has toured more than 50 countries of the world, including Germany,France,Russia,Britain,America,Canada. Rustavi Ensemble has become the king of folk-music singing group in Georgia. Moreover, Rustavi Ensemble has cooperated with Cloud Gate Dance Theatre created by Lin Hwai-min co-performing the “Songs of the Wanderers” in Taiwan. |
